The Torso Care Calendar: Clean, Powder and Store Like a Pro

A TPE torso is a long-term purchase, and long-term purchases deserve a routine rather than a one-time clean. The good news is that maintenance is simple once it is on a schedule. Think of it as a care calendar with three rhythms: after every use, once a week, and once a month.

After every session

Immediately after use, rinse the doll with lukewarm water and clean the entry area and any lube residue with mild soap or a dedicated cleaner from the KeHarbor Care Kit. Never use alcohol, acetone, or antibacterial soap with strong additives – they dry out TPE. Pat dry with a clean cloth and let the doll air-dry fully before it touches anything you will store it against.

The weekly routine

Once a week, give the whole doll a deeper clean. Wash the full surface, pay attention to seams and textured areas where oils collect, and dry completely. TPE is slightly porous, so anything left on the surface for days will start to smell or discolor. A full-surface wash once a week prevents that before it starts.

The monthly powder

TPE naturally exudes a small amount of oil over time. If the surface starts to feel sticky or tacky, that is the fixable sign you are due for a powder pass. Wash the doll, dry it fully, and dust a thin, even layer of renewal powder (included in the Care Kit) over the surface, working it gently into the seams. Let it sit for a few minutes, then brush off the excess with a soft cloth. The result is a silky, non-sticky finish that also protects the surface during storage.

Storage rules that extend life

  • Store flat on its back – never folded, hanging by the hips, or crammed upright into a corner.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat. UV and warmth accelerate TPE breakdown and fade.
  • Separate from dark fabrics. Deeply dyed towels or sheets can transfer color to pale TPE.
  • Use water-based lube only. Silicone lube will soften and ruin the surface.

When to refresh or replace

With this routine, a well-made torso like our half-body range should feel great for years. Replace it when the surface becomes permanently sticky despite powdering, when seams begin to tear, or when cleaning no longer restores a fresh feel – those are signs the material has reached the end of its life, not failures of care.

Everything you need is in one box: the KeHarbor Care Kit pairs cleaner, renewal powder, and a cloth, and our lube guide explains which lubricants are safe to use alongside it.
